Weather

The climate is relatively pleasant with a tasteful variety of seasons. Winters are fairly mild and skiers may be unamused by the lack of snow. The worst times of year weather-wise include the parts of August that can be oppressively hot and humid in some years. The January/February funk includes times when the atmosphere is flat gray and chilly for days.  Outside those times it’s pretty great. Fall and spring are the stuff of poetry around here.

Bloomington has a variable but  ample  amount of rainfall with annual precipitation averaging 44 inches, with 19 inches of snow. Relative humidity is generally high all year long. January temperatures average above freezing at 36 degrees, with July temperatures averaging 86 degrees.
